Welcome to Miles of Pillowcase Smiles 2025
A month-long mission to deliver comfort and smiles—one pillowcase at a time.
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re celebrating with our largest annual campaign: Miles of Pillowcase Smiles. Volunteers across North America will come together to sew 40,000 pillowcases—one for every child in cancer treatment in the U.S.
This year, we also mark a major milestone: 3 million pillowcases delivered with love. Whether you sew, volunteer, donate, or cheer us on, you’re part of something truly meaningful.
Throughout September:
• Pillowcases are counted weekly by our chapter coordinators.
• Volunteers gather at homes, shops, churches, and community centers.
• Quilt and fabric stores host events and serve as drop-off hubs.
• Our national counter tracks progress in real time—watch the smiles grow!
How Can I Get Involved?
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or brand new to our organization, there’s a place for you.
Here’s how to take part:
- Sew a pillowcase (or 10!) — On your own, with a chapter event or with your group.
- Host a sewing event — At home, work, school, your faith community, or anywhere people gather.

- Donate supplies — Fabric, thread, or funds are always appreciated.

- Spread the word — Share the campaign on social media, at your guild, school, or with friends.

No Chapter Nearby? No Problem.
Even if there’s no local chapter near you, you can still participate fully!
Here’s what you CAN do:
- Organize your own sewing event.
- Mail your pillowcases to the closest coordinator listed on our site.
- Help spread the word and share our social media posts.
- Invite friends, family, or co-workers to join you. It’s so much fun with a group and creativity is key!
